First aid training: more important than ever!

With special health measures for this year, a general first aid course was held last week, covering first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). This is a course that is given every year at the Socrates-Demosthenes School.

Every level of teacher, lunch monitors, and extracurricular educators, all of our school community was represented.

The course also included a component on the management of severe allergic reactions (such as the administration of Epipen), lasting an hour and a half, and in accordance with the new requirements of the Ministry of the Family (MFA).

The training was given in all three languages by the wonderful Louis Nicolopoulos, paramedic and former parent atf Socrates-Démosthène, who allowed everyone present to participate in the various learning activities. He took the time to answer ALL questions with patience and kindness.

In short, the course was relevant, the instructor was efficient and the concepts were easy to remember thanks to the way he conveyed the information to us.

A big thank you Mr. Nicolopoulos!
