Accompanied by their teacher and the school secretary, they took public transit from Montreal (a first experience for some) to get to the Old Port. They took a long walk and admired the buildings and boats.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-24435 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.socdem.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/unnamed-1-2-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"980\" height=\"980\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.socdem.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/unnamed-1-2-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.socdem.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/unnamed-1-2-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.socdem.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/unnamed-1-2-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.socdem.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/unnamed-1-2.jpg 1100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 980px) 100vw, 980px\" \/><\/h6>\n<h6>Then it was the highlight of the day: the Queens of Egypt exhibition at the Pointe-\u00e0-Calli\u00e8res museum. The exhibition featured hundreds of fabulous pieces, including monumental statues, frescoes, sarcophagi, a mummy, funerary items and jewelery associated with legendary queens such as Nefertari, Nefertiti and Hatshepsut.<\/h6>\n<h6><\/h6>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-24438 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.socdem.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/unnamed-2-2-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"980\" height=\"735\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.socdem.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/unnamed-2-2-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.socdem.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/unnamed-2-2-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 980px) 100vw, 980px\" \/>The students visited all the rooms with questionnaires whose answers they found in the descriptions of the exhibition. They were fascinated, suddenly aware of the difference between learning history and understanding how it was lived.
