{"id":28276,"date":"2020-05-23T10:04:48","date_gmt":"2020-05-23T14:04:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.socdem.org\/?p=28276"},"modified":"2020-05-23T10:04:50","modified_gmt":"2020-05-23T14:04:50","slug":"may-23rd-2020-message-from-the-director-general","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.socdem.org\/en\/may-23rd-2020-message-from-the-director-general\/","title":{"rendered":"May 23rd, 2020, message from the Director General"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Dear Parents and Friends,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">We hope you and your families are remaining healthy and strong as we slowly come out of this crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Our School\u00a0has\u00a0refocused\u00a0its resources\u00a0and our educators have intensified their efforts\u00a0in teaching from a distance. Socrates-D\u00e9mosth\u00e8ne\u00a0is committed to providing a quality education to all children\u00a0as they\u00a0remain at home.\u00a0It is important to note that because of these\u00a0exceptional circumstances,\u00a0the Ministry of Education (M\u00c9ES)\u00a0has suspended the\u00a0<em>R\u00e9gime p\u00e9dagogique<\/em>, which prescribes every aspect concerning educational services.\u00a0In the process, our educators\u00a0have been directed to concentrate\u00a0on the core courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The entire Socrates-D\u00e9mosth\u00e8ne staff is working rigorously during these last few weeks of school, attending to all educational and administrative matters, and at the same time we are deeply involved in preparations for the next school year of 2020-2021. MEES has confirmed that the last day of formal teaching this school year will be on Friday the 19<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0of June. Our teachers and principals are currently reviewing the guidelines provided by MEES in reference to evaluations. This information will be communicated to you in the coming days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">As for the next school year, we are scheduled to resume classes on the 27<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0of August at all our campuses. MEES is currently reviewing the most ideal scenarios and options taking into consideration all health protocols for both elementary and high schools for next year. We expect the Education Minister to make the appropriate decisions in the coming few weeks. This information we be communicated to you as soon as it becomes available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">As for our student\u2019s belongings, there will\u00a0be\u00a0further\u00a0opportunities, by invitation, for parents to pick\u00a0them\u00a0up from school. More information will be provided by your campus administrators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">In reference to\u00a0the school uniform for next year,\u00a0fitting trials have been cancelled.
