The École Socrates-Démosthène High School Open House at campus Démosthène was a huge success last Thursday. Close to 100 very interested parents were in attendance.  The evening was animated by the General Director, Chris Adamopoulos and the Principal of Socrates II High School, Georgia Tsakalis. The Directors of Campus Démosthène, Mary Kanellopoulos and Sophie Boucher, were present along with the current High School teachers. The presentation included a brief history and overview of the High School for prospective 2020 parents and their children, along with all the logistical information about the High School (schedules, uniforms, transport, etc.).

The benefits of attending the HCGM’s  École Socrates-Démosthène High School were explained in detail. They include: The quality of instruction by tried and tested teachers; the multilingual emphasis; the sports concentration; the small size that creates the ideal learning environment; instruction done completely with iPads and Smartboards; the secure and family environment our School is renowned for; door to door transport service in the campus region and to and from Montreal and Laval; in school homework period with teacher supervision; regular educational outings and trips abroad, and so much more.

Éric Bouchard, the physical education teacher, gave an impressive presentation of the sports concentration that the Demosthenes campus will be offering. He also explained the very successful AREUS Athletics program. Its participants have already won literally dozens of medals. In attendance were the French High School Teacher, Katerina Papachristos, the Greek Teacher, Eirini Tourkomanoli, and the English Teacher Kathy Tassis all of whom answered the various questions from the parents.

Also present were current High School ambassador students along with some of their parents, including Tassia Tsaousis, who is also the HCGM Secretary of Supplementary Education. Registration period for the High School will begin next week.
